Award Winning & Professional Wildlife Photographer
Douglas Oman
has worked most of his professional career as an award-winning portrait and wildlife photographer. His current focus is wildlife and nature scenes in Washington, Montana, Wyoming, Alaska, East Africa, and soon, the Pantanal in Brazil. Douglas lives in Washington state and spends his time locally photographing the varied wildlife, including snow geese, swans, hawks, dunlin, herons, eagles, and San Juan Island foxes. He has the patience to wait for ‘the good shot’ and the eye for light and composition. He is happy to share stories, techniques, and opportunities with new and experienced photographers alike.
Douglas is also a pilot and Certified Flight Instructor, and this came in handy when he was able to capture once-in-a-lifetime shots, from the air, of the 1980 Mount St Helens eruptions. His photographs have been purchased/published in Life, Sports Illustrated, National Geographic, and Alaska Airlines Magazines.
